Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A true Classic ~ one I will always love
I first saw this film here in the UK in the mid 1980's, when I noticed it at the local rental shop. My dad made a copy for me, and I watched it for years. But one day, the tape gave out, and had to be thrown away.

But {finally!}, a copy is on it's way to me now, so I can re-live those happy memories, and be able to share them when I have kids.

The American Rabbit {as was the title over here}, is a wonderful tale for kids and adults alike. It shows that good will triumph ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great kids movie but for growups too!
My son loved this movie as a small child. I really liked it too. I purchased this copy for my friends 5 year old who loved it as well. Great family movie for all ages.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - When the bad guys were bad, and the good guys unflawed.
This movie aired the year after I was born. My parents recorded it on beta (remember that standard?), and it became my favorite movie two years later. Unlike many animes, the viewer will probably have little trouble establishing an emotional connection with the characters-- the reactions of the characters are not culture-specific, but rather universal.

While the storyline seems to have been written with the superhero-loving kid in mind, there are overtones only catchable by adults or near-adults. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Cartoon Ever!
I also watched this religiously when I was growing up. I had it permanently rented out from the video store. It was just last year that I hunted it down again. Since then I've watched it several times. There's something so clever about the whole thing. And there's all these obscure references to Nazism and Capitalism and I even think some of the characters probably represent historical figures. My 8 year old niece also really loved it.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I always watched it when I was a kid.
I LOVE this movie. This was the movie I grew up on as a kid. I watched it at least 5 times a day and never grew tired of it. About the tale of the American Rabbit, the ultimate superhero. Characterized by blue and white starred ears and a red and white stripped body. An excellent kids movie. BUY IT.
