Well at least I had to read this poem for about six times before to understand it. Then I was grasping a kind of weak idea of the author`s viewpoint. So I thought that the speaker was the same as the author 'cos of the highlighted idea of see nature in a landscape where there was a new city trying to rise in an uncertain historical place. The author became a sensitive speaker reflecting his most inner feelings about London and its population. Definitely, I really believe the speaker was in a deep moment of reflection about the moment London was suffering.

The poet described a composed and calm London.Just like a sleeping beauty.Well, London written by Blake is the poem I like more.

This is a beautiful poem, though I prefer London by Blake.. it uses a far more profound detailing of imagery. I have a coursework on this poem to hand in for tomorrow, so crap!.. Again, much remarks.. Henleux

i think this is a magnificant poem about how beautiful London is when it is sleeping. I hate London. I love Sweden. Yay. Go to Ikea and eat Swedish meatballs. thank you have a nice day.

Basically shows how beautiful London is, when it is quiet and people are asleep. Particularly word "smokeless", poets generally writing, dont mention that it was not smokeless- whne they are decribing the natural beauty neither do they choose a city to describe the beayty, it is generally the landscapes. And london being a city always related with problems of smoke, it is very eye catching! Also, the use of personification-= Heart when the city meant the city heart is very noticable.
