Analysis and comments on Jehovah-Shammah by William Cowper

Comment 1 of 1, added on June 21st, 2005 at 9:03 PM.

The poem speaks of an all present God who despites the sins of our present, past and future is a God who is There. The poet alludes to the bird, a small creature that is protected, to show mankind, creatures of a greater magnitude, that in the sight of the Almighty we are of greater value and in our every turning point, some calls it phrase, trials etc GOd is There. The word elect is powerful in essence as a king that is elected to rule, God has called us is elect chosen so that His presence can abide with us. TO greater understand this poem I recommend more scrip0tures such as Psalm 46: 5-7, Zephaniah 3: 17, Zechariah 2: 5 and the scripture that this passage is derived from Ezekiel 48: 35. Know this God is with you, and God is for you .
