why wiuld he use 2 examples of grrek legerd and how does this reinforce the meaning

In the first paragraph,Yeats mentions the birth of his daughter in troubled times(he is refering to the political movement against the cultural influences of English rule in Ireland during the Victorian period).
By "half hid under this cradle-hood and coverlid", Yeats is saying that in her innocence she is unaware of the bad times and is hidden from the tragedies of life.
