this poem expresses how children are repressed from the very moment they are born from the people closest to them their parents. Blake argues that complexity of thinking and years of age are not defining characteristics of experience. And the sad truth that before the infant has really lived long enough to experience anything they still experienced sorrow during its first experience with the world.

I think this poem is excellent and the line 'sulk upon my mothers breast' is one of the best lines Blake has ever written.
Thankyou and good day
