It is a truly touching poem. In these times of war, these poems are a reminder of the horrors of war.The poem helps to demstify war and expose it for the cruelty it brings, not just to the soldiers but to evryone who knew them.

i really enjoyed reading "anthem for doomed youth!"
it contained references to war and wilfred owen's personal experiences. he put imagery in to the poem to get the readers to have an insight of the horrorfic war!

Truly a great poem.
The first stanza talks about how WW1 was a war of attrition and that the fat cat leaders sent of these young boys to be slaughtered like cattle, and when they are killed the only buriel they recieve is that of a bitter mockery of one.
The second stanza reflects on the losses that their comrades and family. This also implies that the men there were united more by comradeship then hate of the enemy or patriotism for their country.

this is truley great piece of work, at no point does owen loss the measeage of war. He is trulley anti~war. And its not hard to belive that the hieracy of the British army might not have liked his poems. But as i am sure as it is right today, there is no such thing as bad publicity..

This poem is really good, Wilfred Owen is able to bring out the cruelty of war and evokes emotions in the reader. The title has contradicting terms. Sadly, he died in World War 1 at the young age of 25.

To me this poem was great...it talks about this efferot in World War 1 and his feeling about young boys going off to the battle field and dying. His emotion and ture feeling come out and slender showing of vivid picture and words he uses. I totally like this poem

This poem is a sonnet. The first stanza is full of war sounds and imagery. The poet is trying to make the reader aware of the horrors of war. This stanza contains language of ceremony and church, however it is placed in the context of WWI - juxtaposition.
There is a change in mood in the second stanza and also a change of setting. The language is more gentle, different type of vocabulary in use here.
