Poem: Partition

Comment 2 of 2, added on March 9th, 2006 at 11:11 PM.

THE POEM IS A HISTORICAL ACCOUNT OF INDIA'S PARTITION.NOT ONLY THE ROLE OF RADCLIFFE HAS BEEN EMPHASISED,BUT AUDEN ALSO PUTS FLOOD OF LIGHT ON HIS INNER TURMOIL .THE POEM IS MARKED BY THE LUCIDITY AND FELICITY OF DICTION.IT BRINGS A PANAROMIC PICTURE OF AUGUST,1947 IN THE INWARD EYE OF THE READER.
