Thomas Hardy - She At His Funeral

THEY bear him to his resting-place--
In slow procession sweeping by;
I follow at a stranger's space;
His kindred they, his sweetheart I.
Unchanged my gown of garish dye,
Though sable-sad is their attire;
But they stand round with griefless eye,
Whilst my regret consumes like fire!

i like this poem! its so short, yet uber sad and deep! i have to memorize it for tomorrow, but there shouldn't be a problem with that! ;)
i think that maybe she could have either killed him, or caused his death in some way, or maybe she didnt say she loves him..... thats where her regret came from........
what do you guys think?? im curious and eager to know!
