One analysis that can be possible in this poem is sort of contrasting. If you think about the industrial revolution it was about wealth in power. In this poem the author is representing that the person is giving up a world of beauty and serenity for riches and power. As shown in the lines of “And straight was a path of gold for him, and the need of a world of men for me”... Is this poem prostituting their values of love and the serenity of nature for wealth and power? When i read it over and over again that is what it told me.

i think that the main theme in this poem is the life of a very lonely person, who is trying to start his/hers life all over again.the poet has used mostly metaphore as a figures of speech.when he/she least expects his/hers life changes.i also think that the poem is called "parting at morning" because the person being disscused starts the new life or beginning early in the morning, before everyone else. the poem is the second part of the poem 'meeting at night'.maybe the woman misses the man and feels that the whole world of men willnot replace the man who has just left her.'need' talks about her need which is not fulfilled by the entire world. i believe this poem indicates the nature of the lovers

the author (brownning) seems to have no point of writing this poem.without knowing that this is part of the previous poem, Meeting at Night, the reader has no clue what browning is talking about.even though i believe this is a good poem, what is the point of writing this?

i would have to disagree with the last comment this poem is a continuence of the poem meeting at night. in which the subject of the poem travels to see someone the love and this is just talking about them parting after their night together
