he would accept me back with open arms, yet it is he who left me. i thought he wanted me back. what a fool i was. just a trap to keep me alive, but for what. he is with her now, and i am still stuck here with orders to stay away.

the poem is awesome.... Pablo Neruda given a great message about love how (boy/girl) are mad abt it and waste there lifes around it but still fell in love no matter if (boy/girl) betray.. but still open there heart for them and only them....

I felt a squeeze in my heart when I read this poem in an early morning. It touched me deeply because it is how I feel at this moment! A very deep poem; I wonder if it is as powerful as in Spanish.

This poem is what many of our young people are going through today. Love and hate at the same time .He expresses his feeling through writing it and this what I think of us should do instead of holding it in .Write a poem or a letter to exress yourself
