Analysis and comments on Heron Rises From The Dark, Summer Pond by Mary Oliver

Comment 1 of 1, added on December 30th, 2008 at 10:01 AM.

As I watched a great blue heron ascend from the winter creek behind my house my soul stirred and I searched for words to describe the sight. This poem brings clarity to my experience and hope to my skepticism. Mary Oliver and the great blue cry in unison "how improbable that ascension is not possible."
