Black Oaks says it all for me. It speaks to me right where I am every time that I read it.

This poem makes me smile, but it also causes me to experience sadness because Mary Oliver's words ring so true.

I realize I am not alone when I feel guilty as I seek to renew my spirit.

So, for me, these verses cover the emotional scale from beginning to end.

The descriptive imagery is captivating.

Poetic verse doesn't get any better -- Black Oaks is my all time favorite.
