Analysis and comments on Isabella or The Pot of Basil by John Keats

Comment 1 of 1, added on June 10th, 2005 at 11:49 AM.

I absolutely love this poem - to me, it shows the fantastic extremes of Keats' art - the innocent yet passionate longing of Isabella and Lorenzo, contrasted with her brothers' capitalist greediness and cruelty. We see Keats' ever-present transcience in Lorenzo's death, and Isabella's transformation from pure happiness to extreme, maddening grief. I love this poem!!!! :D
