I think its a wonderful poem. The peot speaking through a mouse. Also, the selfishness is clearlyindicated. People get things they do not deserve to recieve. It also indicates how people take on opportunities. Well..that wht i think of now!! So ttul....Sonia!! :)

I find this poem quite interesting and well-written, as it satirises christianity and after deep thought, is found to be a fairly accurate interpretation about how we christians are often hypocritical.

This is one of my favourite poems.
I am always heartened by Betjeman's ability to write such accessible poetry.
