Mrs. Barrett Browning was a true hero. Her writing is truth and painful all together. This is one of my favorite poems because she displayed the harm of child labor. It is sad to know that there are children in the world who probably have the same lives of the ones in the poem. Peace!

God bless the children. God bless Mrs. Browning for her courage and conviction, to put into words, what others had in their eyes.

This poem portrays the harsh and devastating situations inflicted upon children even 5 years of age during the Victorian Era. It is truly writers like her who make a significant difference in this world.
