Analysis and comments on Ithaka by Constantine P. Cavafy

Comment 1 of 1, added on April 3rd, 2006 at 7:27 PM.

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis requested that this poem
be read at her funeral service as reported in the N.Y. Times the day of her service.
This poem came to me in mid 1970's on my first Outward
Bound experience in late summer on the coast of Maine.
It was on mimeographed paper which has been replaced
by typewritten paper, then on xerox paper, and now on
computer paper. As I get older this poem takes on more
meaning.
