Analysis and comments on So I Said I Am Ezra by A.R. Ammons

Comment 1 of 1, added on November 29th, 2007 at 9:13 AM.

The genre of this poem is dramatic poetry and it is specifically soliloquy. In soliloquy we have one person speaks aloud and does so with no one else present to hear the words. The poet in this poem criticizes the society that it doesn't give the right to speak, discuss or share ideas. As we noticed in the first stanza, the poet got depressed because people don't listen to him. Then he moved to the sea, but the sea also doesn't want to listen to him.
