this delightful parody by a.e. housman points to a more serious issue, the issue of "versions" of the power and beauty of classical greek when it is carried over properly into English by poets such as Seamus Heaney and Christopher Logue. Translators like Murray and Lattimore are fine if you're struggling through the original text, but they are impossibly dull and misleading as authentic messengers of classical greek poetry.
