I saw The Prisoner in 1968 and loved it. Unfortunately we didn't have a video recorder then (!) so I waited. And waited. Now we have the entire series, restored to near-perfection, and it wears extremely well: no cars to date it, no fashion to speak of, just The Village garb, even the dialog is timeless. And - I had forgotten - surprisingly sharp and funny at time. But can't watch just one episode a week ... (Treat yourself to the Village font too - it's free)

This series always fascinated me. All the many years since they got broadcasted in Switzerland for the first time I never quite forgot it.
To possess the whole set means an old dream has come true. To find so many fan sites in the Internet doubles the fun.

Well..when I was a boy (back in 1969-1970)I used to watch every week The Prisoner....here in BRAZIL... and I love these glamourous and thrillin' episodes from the very start......Do you remember THE ROVER??? I've been searching for years for someone put on the street this series in a good and easy to understand (for me!!) portuguese subtitles......but none of I wished the most happened...now I can watch ALL 17 episodes in a box set (40th Anniversary....time flies so quickly!!) Thanks AMAZON!!!
And I'll watch every episode with my 13 years son......by the way my son's name is PATRICK can I tell more????? Go now and buy this gem..it's a must have!!!!

The DVDs arrived quickly but I can't play them on Australian DVD player! So I have sent them back. I think the vendor needs to make sure that similar DVDs are in no-zone format which are available as I have just received another order which is no-zone....

I remember watching this series orginally when it was aired with my father, then they shown it again on PBS, and I really love this series, and that wishing to go to the place at where they film it, and that each episode does ask questions, my favorite is ABC, and the General. Then I purchased the VHS set in not knowing soon that it will be on DVD, so I bought the DVD set but the 40th anniversary set. That it has extra features, out takes, map of the village, triva questions, etc. Very much love the series, and when I show it to my girlfriend that she like the first episode, and the village itself, so we are going to the village for our honeymoon that it will be an experience, and a venture to witness a very good series, and to be where they film it...
