I bought the tape, because Denise Austin has a good reputation as a fitness expert. She is not, however, a yoga expert. They describe the moves as "flowing into the next pose", but she moves so quickly from pose to pose that the workout is not beneficial. She needs to hold the poses longer. The only positive is that it's a quick 20min. workout. I can't recommend it.

I was very disappointed with this video. Denise has terrible Yoga form to follow and her cuing is also not up to par. She doesn't have a Yoga presence and obviously does not understand the philosophy behind it. The Pilates segment is equally lacking. She does not have the precision and control needed to teach proper Pilates. Don't waste your money or your time.

I admit, I wouldn't have bought it for myself. My mother bought it for me for my birthday (she knows I sometimes do the Lifetime show and that I use the Living Arts Pilates tapes and have done yoga for a while). I was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, I am more used to yoga that is held a little bit longer, and I think she would have done well to present more information on the breathing techniques you need for each segment (since I've got you: it's in through the nostrils, out through the nostrils for yoga; in through the nostrils, out through the mouth for Pilates- and do your best to keep your stomach flat, or you could hurt back!), but because I already knew them, I got a good workout- I even broke a sweat!
The Pilates section, I felt, was slightly better than the yoga section- I loved the arm series (and despite what someone said, a lot of that was Pilates, especially the pushups and the "boxing").
She does say at the beginning that you should watch the tape before you do it (by the way, I believe that's the rule for all exercise tapes).
The best thing about the tape is that you can get a thorough workout in 20 minutes (or 40, if you decide to do both segments). I like to mix up what I do to workout, so this is ideal for me.
Give it a try!

I was interested in a tape which combined both yoga and the Pilates method, since flexibility is what I'm interested in. This tape is meant for those already familiar with the principles of both yoga and Pilates, since crucial to both methods is correct form. As Denise flew from one pose to another -- with little or no guidance on position of arms, hands, body -- I simply sat back and watched, wondering how anyone could keep up. She would do well to take a page from Callan Pinckney's approach, taking time to stress the correct position for each movement and encouraging beginners to work at THEIR OWN PACE, not pushing their bodies into positions for which they need greater flexibility. Callan's groups include those of different ages and different levels of ability, which encourages the beginner to go on. If I could return this viedo I would.....it is a total waste of my time. Though I'm generally a fan of Denise Austin videos, she was less than great on this one. She doesn't thoroughly explain the moves she is doing and runs through each excercise too quickly to actually do any good. However, the Pilates section of the tape, after the Yoga, was a pretty good workout and good introduction to Pilates. Overall, though, not worth the investment.
