We had a couple of boat outings planned for our 10 mth old. We didn't want to spend a lot for such limited use, so we purchased this. I doubt there is any such thing as a very comfortable PFD for infants - so it may be unfair to ding this product, but our daughter was very uncomfortable. It rode up on her in the front and was pressing against her face.

If you're planning on several outings, then I would suggest a neoprene model.

The jacket is well-made, attractive, and meets USCG standards. Our 17-month-old granddaughter did not fuss about wearing it on the boat or at the ocean or even on pool deck. However, it did not allow her to sit down comfortably on the sand (and she weighs 24 pounds), and when she jumped into the pool, it flipped her on her back--which it is SUPPOSED TO DO so that an infant's head is supported out of the water.
