After reviewing several brands from Philips to Toshiba, I decided on the Toshiba DR560. From the beginning, this has been an awesome recorder. I have been using DVD+R and DVD-RW discs. Read More Rating: - DVD is almost perfect The unit is wonderful, easy to use, and set up but falls way short when it comes to using the remote. I need a magnifying glass and a flashlight to see and read the remote. they need to use white letters on the remote or at least make the remote so it lights up. Other than that its a great unit for the price. Rating: - A little tough to figure out, but it's working for me. Both of my kids are in college and love the Fox Soccer Channel. Alas neither of them have access to it. Bought the Toshiba DR560 so I could record FSC games and send to them. I've had the unit for about a month and it's working great. However, it was difficult to figure out how to hook it up. I have comcast high def and never have figured out how to hook the unit up so it recognizes all the comcast channels (i.e. the built in tuner is useless). The analog and digital channels came in perfectly using an inexpensive indoor rabbit ear antenna. We also tried hooking up directly to cable and this worked for the perfectly for the analog channels, but took a little work with the digital channels. The digital channel scan hung on one of the digital channels and could not complete its scan.
