Charging the iPhone can take quite awhile, especially if the charger isn't designed specifically for the iPhone. But this charger is remarkably quick, whether used in the car or a wall outlet. The product was ideal for my daughter who has both an iPod and an iPhone. Cosmetically the black matched her units and the functionality has gone undiminished, so no problems in the short run.
