David Lean was a great director and this is only one of his many masterpieces. A friend suggested this movie to me. I waited with bated breath as the movie began. What a wonderful movie. The scenery was gorgeous. The director did a great job of showing how the British and the people of India were divided not only by their culture, but by their beliefs and the treatment of people. This is a must see movie.
