Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Vicente Fernandez is not only the world's greatest living ranchera inger, he's also a true compadre who's willing to share the spotlight with his fellow artists. He's already paid tribute to iconic Mexican songwriters of yesteryear such as Jose Alfredo Jimenez and Agustin Lara. Now, he teams up with one of the most poetic composers of the past 35 years, The maestro Joan Sebastion, for an album with 12 brand new songs by Sebastian himself.

People en Español:
The king of ranchero music’s album cover isn’t the best portrayal of the great work you’ll find inside this 12-track disc, with songs written by Joan Sebastian for the Don Chente. From the tragic 'La Derrota,' the optimistic 'Niña Hechicera' (with more of a pop arrangement), and, of course, the memorable 'Para Siempre,' the theme song from the Mexican soap Fuego en la Sangre, Fernández sings with such conviction that it’s hard not to consider this one of his best albums yet. --Ernesto Sánchez (People en Español People en Español)

--Ernesto Sánchez (People en Español People en Español)

This is one of my favorite Latin singers. My girlfriend from Vera Cruz grew up with Vicente.

The spanish is clear and precise and the instrumentals excellent.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Viva Mexico!
I have been hearing his song "La Derrota" for a couple of weeks now and finally they said who the singer is and I wasn't surprised to hear that it was Vicente Fernandez. This song has to be one of the most powerful and passionate songs Vicente has ever sung. Every time that I listen to it, it reminds me of how beautiful and how wonderful Mexico is. If anyone wants to hear the heart of Mexico, it's in his songs and in this album. Every time he sings, I fall deeper and deeper in love with Mexico. Viva ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Chente Por Siempre
I have been a fan for years from listening with my DAD as a child to my adult years Vicente gets better and better as the years go by. I love every song he has written and than some. If you don't have this CD get it now it's great!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Vicente... still king of the rancheras
It says alot about Don Fernandez that he still is the best the ranchera world has to offer even though he's been around for decades.

His voice is still strong, the arrangements are just right, the lyrics are beautiful, and the songwriting is superb (thanks to Joan Sebastian).

First ranchera album i've purchased in years. They haven't been particularly great this decade.

Thank you Vicente and Joan for getting me to listen to it again.
