I called 'customer support' and got somebody who was courteous but could barely speak a word of English. After 20 minutes of him verifying my info and serial number and clarifying what it was I was calling for (I simply needed a new power supply), he put me on hold. After getting back on the phone, he said "You can call back in the middle of the week-as we do not have any power supplies. Is there anything else I can help ... Read More Rating: - Died in less than 2 years I have had this hard drive for less than 2 years. Used it just for backing up pictures, music and documents. I noticed it ran a little warm, but wasn't too alarmed. I went to back up new files this week and it was completely dead! I tried to call the 800# in the manual and they were useless and barely spoke English. I will never buy Western Digital again. Rating: - Does what it's suppose to Well, for the price, I thought it was worth getting this hard drive. WD is a well reknown brand of hard drives and this one, so far, has performed up to its reputation. I just took it out of the box, plugged it in and that was it. No formatting was necessary, no setting up necessary, it just works right out of the box. I must say though that I've only had mine for about a month. No problems yet Rating: - Fantastic It works great and is really convenient. I didn't have room for some of my programs before I got this. Rating: - comes with AC adaptor a bit noisy The technical info didn't specify whether this came with a power adaptor - it does. I found it noisier than the freecom external harddrive that I have and it's a bit slower at copying files over, but works fine.
