At first I wasn't sure what I was looking for. But once the 'fern' pattern appeared, it was clear it was the right thing. Basically, just look for straight lines. This thing is really easy to use, although I do prefer to look at the results by holding the black cap thing directly over the light, rather than screwing it in place, but either way is okay.

Great product.Easy to use and the results are easy to read.I have seen the fern patterns and it looks pretty neat.My cycles are never the same each month so this helps me to predict when I'm fertile which is great to know while ttc.

The product is a very simple microscope. And it works as intended, except I wish the manufacturer would be a little clear on the instructions on how to use it. The box came with just one tiny sheet of basic instructions. At first didn't even know where to put the saliva, on the outside or inside. I guess it makes perfect sense after I figured it out but I think clearer instructions would have been helpful.

I ordered this product about a month ago having absolutely no experience with charting my cycle or even knowing the timeline within a cycle (having been on birth control for 12 years.)The product is simple to use and easy to read. It comes with a chart and directions with example pictures to compare your results to.
