Ideal for the chemically sensitive or those with small children, the Bissell Steam Mop deep-cleans hard-surface floors using the power of pure water alone. No harsh (or expensive) cleaners means no fumes or residues to irritate lungs or muddy delicate finishes, while the use of hot steam rather than buckets of water leaves floors dry in just seconds. Heated and ready to use in 30 seconds, the remarkably quiet mechanism works something like an iron: steam is dispensed on demand, rather than continuously, by pressing the trigger while passing the mop over the floor. Hot steam easily removes hardened and sticky gunk, especially if the mop sits over the mess for a few seconds. (Leave it in place 15 seconds to actually sanitize the cleaning surface.) The machine steams for approximately 15 minutes before the tank needs to be refilled, but there's no lag once you refill it.

This thing is great. It cleans the floors even the stubborn gunk that I use to have to use a butter knife to scrap off. It heats up quick and the steam power does the trick. It uses very little water to clean the whole house. The majority of my house is ceramic tile and laminate flooring. The only negative that I have come up with after 2 months of use is the cord is too short. This is a very good product for steam cleaning relatively clean to begin with wood floors. You must vacume the floors very well before use and I would suggest weekly steam cleanings. This product would not be good for heavily soiled wood floors or wood floors without a good sealant. I like it very much though as compared to to using an old fashioned bucket and mop. We just bought a new house. Floor cleaning has always been a bit of contention around here. Both my husband and I have back trouble (who doesn't once they hit their 40's). Anyway, cleaning floors the old fashioned way (hands and knees) is just not possible unless we spend the next day in bed....who has time?
