Rating: - Coolest add-on for a laptop going!
I recently purchased this Tuner as part of an auction on eBay. Never thought to look here on Amazon. Oops. I have to say i love my TV card. I do dialysis 3 days a week and the clinic does not allow any connections to the outside. This cool device lets you not only watch TV signals but it acts as a DVR and lets you record any show. Mine installed in seconds and immediately loaded up the local Comcast guide and proceeded to offer me options of how and what I wanted to record for later viewing. ... Read More
Rating:  - Don't run it for a long time!
This TV card really works well except that it can get VERY hot...I have found that using it for several hours is not a good thing as you can feel the heat the card gives off right through the top of the laptop...when you pull it out be careful that you don't burn yourself...I called HP and they said that it is true that they do run fairly hot... but did not say that you couldn't use it for long periods, but personally I wouldn't use it for more than an hour or so...

I purchased the HP ExpressCard TV Tuner (Dig/Ana) to use with my Dell E1505 from In and Out Auctions. It took about four attempts to download the schedule for digital setup from the ISP however, it was well worth it. The signal and audio quality is outstanding and on top of that, I am receiving even more channels though the laptop using this card than on my TV (channelization limitations with remote). Rating: - What a surprise - great addition to the computer
If you want over-the-air and free HDTV you need this piece of electronic wizzardry. For the 17inch wide-screen HD laptop I recently purchased, it doubled its viabilty for multipurpose use. It even comes with a remote control to operate your HP laptop like you do with a remote TV - channel changing, menu selection and review, etc.
Best of all this authentic HP unit was 1/2 the price of buying it from HP. It comes with an antennae that can be placed on top of a car using the suction cup base ... Read More
