I purchased two fans from Vornado direct. Both were larger, more expensive units (280 & 285) that had either ten year or lifetime warranties. Read More Rating: - Very Nice... But Watch the Price I'm currently living in a pretty stuffy little dorm room with poor circulation. Even during the winter, the air gets warm and stagnant with all of the electronics in here. This air circulator does its job extremely well. I usually run it on the second setting, and it keeps a constant soft breeze through the entire room and dissipates heat well as long as the window is open. It is virtually silent on the first setting, not really noticable on the second, and tolerable on the third. In short, ... Read More Rating: - Vornado 630B Works great. Not as quiet as the older model and larger Vornados we have had for over 8-9 years. Moves air really well. It's no longer made in the US. Our other fans are run almost continuously for the last few years and have never broken down. That's great durability. We'll see if the made in China fans last as long or hold up as well. I wish they would return to the old model stand which you could tighten the knobs on the side to switch the angles. The single arm bent tube style sucks ... Read More Rating: - Failed completely after less than 4 months Yesterday, I turned the fan on, heard a pop, and it died. No response on any of the 3 speed settings. Now I have to ship it back to Kansas for warranty service, though I expect it to cost about $25 in shipping charges (both ways) to get it fixed. I'm pretty disappointed... Rating: - Powerful and quiet at first, then odd noises developed. I really liked it at first. Talk about moving some air. Worked great for a bit, then the rattling started. First only on the highest setting, then eventually made it down to the lowest. It started out as a vibration then became an off beat clicking. Seems to come from the motor or near it.
