Palacios hot chorizo is made from a generations--old recipe by a family owned company in La Rioja. It was featured in the New York Times and Wine Spectator® magazine. These delicious pork sausages are seasoned with hot smoked Spanish paprika -- pimentón picante. It is a piquant blend of the distinctive smoked paprika which makes Spanish chorizo truly unique -- unlike sausages from any other country. These chorizos are fully dry-cured and ready to eat with your favorite cheese and wine, or just a chunk of crusty bread. About 1 inch thick.

Rating: - A great addition to your palate
I purchased this because I have a hard time finding good quality chorizo locally. This was not quite as spicy as I expected, but the flavor and texture were excellent (if I need a touch more heat, I can get it in a number of ways.) It was very good just for snacking, I cooked some with scrambled eggs and a little onion for a nice breakfast burrito, and we have used it in huevos rancheros. I will be keeping some on hand from now on.

IF you want some spice in your cocido or fabada, then this authentic chorizo picante from Spain is for you.

I make my own Polish and Italian sausage, and have been doing it for years, but sometimes I bow down to the "experts" when it comes to a sausage I don't make regularly.
The Palacios Hot Chorizo is excellent and I wouldn't presume to try to duplicate it. The couple of pounds I ordered the other day was "snacked on" by me and gone by the next day!
