The package is terrible at communicating what it is or how to use it. If you read Paula Begoun's cosmetics book, you will see she classifies the Rev-er Upper as a good EXFOLIANT with both AHA and BHA. It's not a moisturizer or a toner and the results are not immediate. You don't want to apply this to your eye area. It came in my BareMinerals starter kit and I've been using it on my blemish-prone T-zone but I think I'm ready to ditch it in favor of a BHA only product. The smell is awful going on ... Read More

I hate this product.
I cannot believe Bare Escentuals made this.
I have combo skin with only occasional breakouts, and this only made my skin worse.
This product smells horrible. If something works well, but doesnt have the greatest smell, I'll use it. Because I know midway thru the day the smell will wear off.
This smell is just gross. It smells kind of like the product went back...and a hint of plastic. NOT what you expect when you shell out for a "higher brand" ... Read More

It's taken me a number of years to find a face lotion that is just right for my skin type. I admit it's costly (hence the four stars), but for me it's worth the price. I wouldn't say the smell is pleasant either but I got used to it and it goes away quickly. I use it whether I wear makeup or not and would recommend it for those with sensitive skin.

I got this product with my starter kit and I was initially annoyed because I didn't want it. I had been using the foundation for about two weeks, hoping it would help clear up my horrible acne, but it didn't. I got the starter kit two weeks ago and started using bareVitamins morning and night after washing my face. My face still isn't totally clear, but it's much, much better.

I got this in my Bare Escentuals starter kit, and I really hated the way it smelled! like other reviewers I thought it smelled like glue, very chemical like. I love bare escentuals makeup,and I noticed that after using the rev-er upper and the makeup that my skin looked amazing, refreshed, so I did an experiment and stopped using the rev-er upper and just stuck to my regular routine of moisturizers that I have used for 20 years and the makeup, and my skin still looked just as radiant, so I am not sure what exactly ...
