If you don't need to can quarts, and want to keep the weight you lug around down, this canner is great. It comes to a boil faster than the big canner for quarts, too. You can fit pints, 12 oz., and/or 8 oz. jars in this canner. Bought this for my first attempt at preserving. It was so easy to use and has solid construction. It arrived REALLY early and the communications with the ace outlet was fast as well. I would highly recommend this.
Rating:  - Water Bath Canner for pint jars
This canner is fine for pint jars except that the rack doesn't hold the jars well enough. They can tip very easily. Perhaps it should be a little taller. It serves my purpose but I have to watch that the jars don't tip. This is easier when the canner is full but more difficult when the canner only holds a couple of jars.

I bought this pot knowing that the bottom is not flat and might be a danger to my glass stove top. First I boiled water in it; then I canned some pickles. So far they work well together.
