Amazon.com Product Description:
The P5085 telephone recorder from P3 International lets you record telephone conversations through both single-line and multi-line telephones. Ideal for use in interviews or for recording directions and other important information, the P5085 is able to record over eight hours of conversation using a standard 120-minute cassette. The recorder hooks up to any available RJ-11 phone jack and has a built-in speaker that lets you listen to recorded material.

Two tape speeds (4.8 cm/sec and 1.2 cm/sec) are available, while voice activated recording helps to conserve tape space. An automatic level controller helps compensate for bad connections, and power and level LEDs provide a visual indication of the recorders inputs. With manual record, play, rewind, fast-forward, stop/eject, and pause buttons, you can record, audition, and cue the tape. Four AAA batteries provide the recorder's power source. The P5085 comes backed with a six-month limited warranty.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - how can people rate this badly!
I love this thing. it is very cool, one of the best products I own. it shuts off if your on hold and theres music-which sometimes is FOREVER, starts again when people start talking. has a bunch of settings. its great for c service issues. ive had it for years now. i bought it because i was tired of having redundent conversations w earthlink about their bogus termination fee, they were trying to scam me and i was ready to send a tape to the ceo. the conversations were clear as a bell...very clear! ... Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Never worked properly
As stated by another reviewer, the device turns itself off after recording for a few seconds. E-mail to the company resulted in explaining the same info in the manual i.e., how to plug in, switch settings, etc. Concludes that if that doesn't work, it must be the drive belt. I fastened the Play-Record buttons down with rubber bands, and although it tries to turn itself off (clicking away), I have managed to record conversations. Sometimes I find it taping when nothing is going on. Too much of a hassle ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - P3 International Telephone recorder
It seems like it has the right idea, but the adapter for the telephone jack in the wall didn't work, and the recorder shuts off after about 90 seconds, (you can't record calls longer then 90 seconds without manually restarting the machine). Overall, it's been a hassle so far, and I'm not happy with it. I'm hoping this is only specific to the machine I got, and am hoping the company I got it from will exchange it.

UPDATE: Only after a TON of hassle from the company (who did not want to honor ... Read More
