Mega Man X2 in my opinion is the best Mega Man X game ever made, besides X4 and Command Mission. If I had to rank the games, from best to worst, here's how I would rank them:
1. Mega Man X2
2. Mega Man X Command Mission
3. Mega Man X4
4. Mega Man X8
5. Mega Man X3
6. Mega Man X
7. Mega Man X7
8. Mega Man X5
9. Mega Man X6(I didn't know what this one was)

Rating: - Mega Man X2 - Easily the best of the SNES Mega Man games.
Although Mega Man 7 on the SNES is a pretty good game too, Mega Man X2 is still substantially better. If I had to rate them all, I'd give Mega Man X a 6, Mega Man X2 a 9, Mega Man X3 a 7, and Mega Man 7 a 7.
Mega Man X2 refines and creates the most fun and interesting version of the Mega Man X formula on the SNES (on the Playstation, the X games are pretty good too though).

This game is, overall, better than the previous X installment. It has a good level of challenge, although once you get the hang of it, the game becomes pretty easy. The weapons, though somewhat dull and uncreative, are still pretty fun to mess around with. For example, changing the weather using your bubble splash, speed burner, strike chain, and crystal hunter in Wire Sponge's stage, and the priceless joy of making Crystal Snail chase his shell around by using the magnet mine on him. Rating:  - Almost as good as the first- but not quite
Enhanced graphics and gameplay make this game very fun to play. It carries on the story and doesn't really screw it up too bad.
Basically in this installment, you have to rescue Zero's parts from the X-Hunters- a band of outlaw mavericks determined to go through with the "unification" (which of course, we never find out just what the 'unification' is... figures).

The original Mega Man X for the Super NES is an INCREDIBLE action game that held up extremely well through the years. How does Mega Man X2 stand up? Not as fun as the first one mostly because Capcom took a backseat with the action and put the storyline upfront. I prefer action over storyline any day of the week, so you can bet it's disappointing to me. But because it's Mega Man, and Mega Man games have more action than Paris Hilton, it's fun to play no matter WHAT. But X2 isn't crammed with action ... Read More
