You can then just move the Wonder Winder from one location to another as you need it. The unit's basket holds up to 75 feet of 12/3 cord, 100 feet of 14/3 cord, or up to 150 feet of 16/3 cord. Simply plug your tool into the cord end, and as you walk to your work area the cord follows. For those who feel this lightweight winder isn't durable, I bought one of these for my father for my parents' anniversary 14 years ago. It has seen them through house renovations, yard work, motorcycle repairs and a move, being mounted, remounted, moved and remounted again. It's lightweight enough that you don't have to strain to wind it and the cord unwinds perfectly every time. These winders are absolutely great for in the garage or basement! The cord pulls out easily and winds back up in seconds. Also, your cord is not snaking through the garage on the floor getting caught on things. Great purchase for anyone - handyman or one of the girls!!
Rating:  - Worthless wonder winder
I have had this worthless piece of junk on my garage wall for nearly two years and have yet been able to make it work. I have taken it apart, reassembled and still it will NOT wind up a 100' extension cord. Period.

This is one of the few products that I have purchased over the years, that actually works flawlessly. Also it didn't cost an arm and a leg.
