Rating:  - The finned cars, the gals, the new houses... and then there is Bob!
I saw this at the walk-in in the 60s when I was a little tyke and just loved it. I saw it on TV in the 90s and since I was living in Southern California I knew where the hood was so I searched one day and I found the house! It is in Calabasas right off the 101 and Mulholland Highway. I loved the finned cars and the gorgeous women. Damn, that Bob Hope was one lucky Bachelor. When it comes out on DVD I will buy it.

Believe it or not but I saw this movie when it was in theaters-and living in Southern California. The outside shots are EXACTLY the way it looked back in the late 50's/early 60's. I could watch this movie over and over and over... love Paula Prentiss and Jim Hutton-they have great chemistry.
Seeing this movie is also very nostalgic because it was the end of an era=Bob Hope and Lana Turner, Annette and Frankie were at the beach and Pat Boone was on the radio.

When will this delightful movie be available on DVD? I agree with most of what the positive reviews of this film say. It's a delicious look at early 60s suburban sensibilities, and the cast is wonderful. Make no mistake -- I'm a teenager of the 60s, and I was no fan of Bob Hope's conservative viewpoints on the Vietnam war. It is such a funny classic in my opinion! I am a big fan of Bob Hope and had never heard of the film, but I was able to finally catch it one time on tv as per my mother's recommendation and I am so lucky to have seen it. [...]
