Product Description:
The Private Eye

New York Times Bestselling Author

Jayne Ann Krentz

P.I. Josh January is no hero, but he'll fake it for Maggie Gladstone. His last case almost killed him, and she's offering a much-needed vacation in return for investigating strange goings-on at her inn. The job should be a cinch. Seducing Maggie -- a bonus. But when the accidents turn deadly serious, playing the hero could cost Josh a very high price . . .

Plus two tales of romantic suspense

Keegan's Bluff by Dani Sinclair

When Gillian's car broke down, she thought she was having a bad day. Then a half-naked man tackled her, and she knew she was having a bad day. Now there's a storm rolling in, hit men on her trail, and -- worst of all -- she may be falling in love . . .

Cop Next Door by Julie Miller

Loner Ethan Cross doesn't trust anyone -- it's all part of the job for an undercover cop. So is his suspicious mind just working overtime . . . or is his pretty new neighbor really hiding something?

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Review on PRIVATE EYE
This book was okay but it didn't sizzle by any stretch of the imagination. While the plot was fine, the telling of it was only moderately good. Josh was a cool guy, however.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beguiled by Lori Foster!!
Dane Carter is pretending to be his brother Derek while he searches for Derek's killer. He thinks he's got a hot lead when Angel Morris walks into his--Derek's--office. The more he learns of her relationship with his brother--that Derek had betrayed her trust, had her fired from her job, fathered her child, then left her--the more it looks like Angel could be Derek's killer. Yet, the more he learns of Angel, the more he knows it isn't her. When it turns out someone is trying to kill Angel, Dane ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Puzzling.
First, let me say this was a good book. I love a hero who is burned out and a heroine who looks for the good in people. But...I found myself constantly looking at the author's name to verify that it said Jayne Ann Krentz on the cover. There was none of her signature humor or crackling sexual tension. As it has a 1999 copyright date, I would expect her usual style. Could this be a much older book that wasn't published until 1999? If you're a JAK fan, you might be disappointed. If you like sweet ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Super Twofer...
If you like your romance steamy, your men hot and your women feisty then these two stories are a must-have for your collection. Jayne Ann Krentz gives us a vintage tale of love, lust and confusion between detective Josh January and innkeeper Maggie Gladstone. This is wonderful Krentz stuff, the affair is believable, the characters charming and the story holds us to the last kiss! Lori Foster gives us a harder-edged tale of brotherly love taken to a new dimension when Dane Carter replaces identical ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - couldn't put it down
This was my first Lori Foster book. I loved every minute of it. After reading it I went out and bought four other Lori Foster books. I like authors who don't portray the hero as a wimpy romantic. Her male characters are more masculine, while still being romantic. I happen to have three older brothers, me being the only girl in the family, so I can also say I like her female characters better, because they are not all wishy washy. I also love finding authors who are as good with the secondary characters ... Read More
