Editorial Review:
Product Description: Completely rewritten and greatly expanded, with lots of new maps and a gorgeous new cover, this brand-new edition of Frommer's Italy from $70 a Day shows readers how to enjoy the trip of a lifetime without going broke. Tourism to Italy continues to grow at a rate of 7-8% annually, and the numbers should be phenomenal this year, as Jubilee 2000 approaches, bringing an estimated 26 million travelers and pilgrims to Rome. Many of those travelers will begin planning their trips this year, and dozens of Italy's art treasures and monuments are being restored in anticipation. We're on top of all the latest developments, and have scouted out the country's very best values: charming pensiones and palazzos, authentic dining at local trattorias, cafes, wine tasting, and more. We'll take you to all the top museums, cathedrals, and ruins; take you bargain hunting at local shops and street markets; and show you how to experience a real slice of Italian life, from the hill towns of Tuscany to the dramatic scenery along the Amalfi coast.

Where this guide is most valuable is in the planning process. If you are ... Read More
Rating: - I CANT WAIT TO TAKE THIS WITH ME!
I spent three hours reading this book in our library but I could not wait to come back to Amazon.com and purchase it. I am traveling to Italy in November and this book could not have come at a better time. It not only contains a detailed map, well organized sections, and in depth information on the most inexpensive hotels to stay at but it gives you all the "behind-the-scene" info that would transform any tourist into a local.... Ciao!
